These Terms and Conditions are made between The Feather Duster (“We” “Our” and ”The Feather Duster”) and you as the Client (“You”). We agree to perform the cleaning work specified by You in a professional manner and to a satisfactory level of service. All services We supply to You are subject to these Terms and Conditions.

our guarantee

If You are not completely happy with our service then please tell us within 48 hours in order that we may remedy the situation at no additional charge. We guarantee the quality of our cleaning.

1. contract

1.1 These Terms and Conditions represent a contract between The Feather Duster and You which comes into force upon the provision of our services to You.
1.2 You agree that any use of the services provided by The Feather Duster will always be subject to these Terms and Conditions.

2. service

2.1 Our service to You will take place to an arranged schedule, with the key factors or usage of room and timescales taken into account.
2.2 Our service to you includes all necessary cleaning equipment, with the exception of water and toilet brushes, we are willing to use any products as provided by yourselves should you so wish.
2.3 We will endeavour to provide you with an approximate timeslot for your clean, though The Feather Duster cannot guarantee that this timeslot will always be met due to circumstances beyond our control. We will endeavour to keep you fully updated should a delay occur.
2.4 We will where possible provide you with a regular cleaning team, though this may not always be possible. All of our cleaning operatives have been vetted and full references taken upon commencement of employment.
2.5 Once we have agreed the nature of the services to be supplied to You We will write to you to confirm these details and the cost of providing these services to You.
2.6 Upon commencement of our clean, we will speak with you, in your absence we ask you to leave any instructions as to what our priorities for cleaning should be. Should no instructions be given we will focus our attention to the “most used” rooms of your house and balance the cleaning needs along with the scheduled cleaning time.
2.7 Our regular cleaning service involves cleaning by way of dusting or wiping horizontal surfaces. It will also include the vacuuming and/or mopping of floors. We also empty any waste bins during our visit and we place all rubbish in a black bin liner for your disposal. Washing up, tiding and putting away of items such as clothes, toys etc, making and/or changing beds can all form part of Our service however it should be noted the time taken to perform these tasks will leave less time for the general tidying of your house.


3. payment terms

3.1 Unless otherwise agreed payment of our agreed fee is due immediately upon completion of the services.
3.2 Fees can be paid by cash, cheque or bank transfer our account details are sort code 60-24-77 and account number 18966861, please provide your surname as reference for any payments made.
3.3 In the event that any fee is not paid on its due date We reserve the right to charge you interest upon any outstanding amount calculated at 3% above the prevailing base lending rate of Natwest Bank plc.


4. cancellations & holiday breaks

4.1 We require a minimum of 3 days notice if you wish to cancel any appointment and if You do not provide this notice we reserve the right to charge You 100% of the fee if less than 24 hours notice is given, and 50% if less than 72 hours but more than 24 hours notice is given.
4.2 If we have received payment in advance and You wish to cancel any refund will be made in accordance with the procedure set out in clause 4.1.
4.3 You may contact us on 0845 052 0923 and You can leave a message on this number if You wish to cancel.


5. Amendments

5.1 We reserve the right to introduce supplementary terms to these Terms and Conditions. However, we will notify You in writing and if we do not hear from You with any representations within 30 days from the date of notification You will have been deemed to accept any such amendments.


6. your responsibility

6.1 We must point out that it is your legal responsibility to ensure that your home provides a safe environment for our cleaners who undertake the services at your home.
6.2 In the event that our cleaners cannot gain access to your home on the agreed time and date we reserve the right to charge You the full cost of the service that was to be provided.


7. working conditions

7.1 In order to protect our employees, they are instructed not to enter an environment they consider to be unsafe, dangerous to health, or inoperable for any reason, and are instructed to withdraw from the premises and to report the problem. In this event You will be charged 100% of the cost of the relevant services. If the services are rescheduled (after the environment has been rendered safe) You will be charged a fee equivalent to 50% of the original cost.


8. insurance/compensation

8.1 We have in place public liability insurance which will give You protection against any accidental damage that may be caused by our cleaners whilst providing services to You. While our cleaners will treat your home with great care accidents can and do happen from time to time. The policy will cover major accidental damage caused by our cleaners..
8.2 Whilst we ask our cleaners to inform You of any such damage we would ask that You contact us in any event to report any damage caused by our cleaners to your property within 24 hours of completion of the Service. Any claims reported later than 24 hours after the clean will not be considered.
8.3 All our cleaners will endeavour to treat your home and possessions with the greatest of respect and care.
8.4 In the event of damage or loss as a result of our negligence our liability to You will be limited to repair or the replacement cost of the item, taking into account its age and condition. We will not in any event be liable for any loss of profit or consequential loss.
8.5 All fragile and highly breakable items must be secured or removed.
8.6 We may require entry to the location of the claim within 24 hours to correct or assess the problem.


9. data protection

9.1 The information You give will be held and used by us to perform the business for which we are registered. This may include sending You details of offers and services that may be of interest to You.


10. the consumer protection (distance selling) regulations 2000

10.1 By virtue of these regulations We are obliged to supply You with clear and understandable information to allow You to decide whether You wish to purchase services from us.
10.2 You have a cooling off period and may cancel any services We agree to supply to You in accordance with these terms and conditions within 7 working days from the day after We agree to go ahead with our contract with You.


11. non solicitation of our staff

11.1 During the period of our agreement and for a period of 12 months after the termination of this agreement You will not employ any staff that have been employed by The Feather Duster. We reserve the right to claim any damages, loss of earnings, recruitment costs, training costs and any Court costs where appropriate, subject to a minimum of £250.00.


12. duration

12.1 Your only obligation is to provide us with at least 3 working days notice to re arrange any pre-arranged visit to your home to perform the services. Please telephone 0845 052 0923 to make any changes to the service provided.
12.2 For the avoidance of doubt You are not committing to a minimum term and the Contract between You and The Feather Duster is on a rolling basis which You can cancel at any time with two cleans notice, or if on a one-off basis the contract will come to an end once we have provided the agreed services to You.
